How Exam Ready works

Ground school

In build

FAA courses, taught properly.

Structured courses for every FAA subject, taught from first principles, with a check at the end of each module so a misunderstanding surfaces now, not in the exam hall. Not ready yet, and we’d rather say so than sell you a placeholder.

Every course will be included in your plan — no separate purchase.

How many questions are on the FAA Private Pilot knowledge test?

The FAA private pilot airplane (PAR) knowledge test has 60 multiple-choice questions. You need 70% to pass, and you have 2 hours 30 minutes. Epilot's question bank drills every ACS area so nothing on test day is a surprise.

What score do I need to pass the FAA written test?

70%. On the 60-question private pilot test that means at least 42 correct. Epilot's Exam Ready mode keeps returning the questions you miss until you're consistently scoring well above the line.

How is Epilot's FAA question bank organized?

It's built chapter-by-chapter and aligned to the FAA Airman Certification Standards (ACS) — 1,590+ exam-style questions with a worked explanation on every one, plus full-length mock knowledge tests in the real format.

How long is a passed FAA knowledge test valid?

Your airman knowledge test report is valid for 24 calendar months — you must take the practical test (checkride) within that window. Epilot helps you pass the written the first time so the clock starts clean.

Is Epilot affiliated with or endorsed by the FAA?

No. Epilot is an independent study platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration. Our content is aligned to the publicly available FAA Airman Certification Standards and 14 CFR.

Which FAA certificates does Epilot cover?

Epilot's US programme is built for PPL, IR, CPL & ATP candidates, starting with the Private Pilot Airplane (PAR) knowledge test. You can start for free and upgrade when you're ready.
